SP government opens trade office in New York

Special Envoy to New York – The governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB), inaugurated this Thursday (2/12) the state office in New York. The intention is to strengthen relations between Brazilian companies and companies with their headquarters on American, Canadian or Mexican soil.

In order to consolidate the state’s representation in North America, the government brought in a delegation of more than 20 businessmen.

According to the governor, the idea is to attract investment in São Paulo, using local partnerships and connecting state companies to American economic chains.

After the inauguration of the office, the governor visited the United Nations (UN) headquarters for a meeting with the Secretary General, António Guterres.

During the meeting, the two talked about protecting the environment and decarbonizing global economies. According to Doria, Guterres praised the progress made by the current administration of the São Paulo government in terms of sustainability.
