Ottawa, Ontario. – After receiving seven applications from members across the country, Softball Canada is pleased to announce the new 2023/2024 Officials Development Committee (ODC) members:
Genevieve Gaudreau (Que.)
Tonya Ribalkin-Zanon (BC)
Brent Chadwick (Sask.)
Jason Clark (Alta.)
Genevieve and Brent have agreed to another two-year term. Softball Canada is grateful for their time, dedication, support and knowledge of our sport.
Tonya Ribalkin Zanon, who joins the committee and is serving a two-year term, brings extensive K-12 experience as an educator and specializes in working with students with special needs. Tonya has been a leader in our program – working on international events, most recently the 2016 Women’s World Cup, and overseeing Canadian Championships. We look forward to the new perspective Tonya will bring to the committee, including her daily work with equity, diversity and inclusion.
Jason Clark will join the committee for a one-year term. He joins the committee with a successful career at Red Bull and has been one of Softball Canada’s leaders in the slo-pitch community, most recently as a supervisor at the Slo-Pitch Canadian Championship in Dorchester last summer. Jason will bring a new, energetic and fresh perspective to the committee.
“I am very pleased that Brent and Gen are staying with the ODC. Their experience and knowledge will be helpful in this transition,” said Frankie Billingsley, Softball Canada’s National Director of Umpires. “I am equally excited to welcome two new people, Jason and Tonya, who will bring new, fresh perspectives! I can’t wait to see what this amazing group of people will do!”
Softball Canada would like to thank Jeff Whipple and Sandra Forand for their years of service to the ODC and for promoting the sport of softball.
