Senators sign left winger David Perron

According to Wayne Scanlan of Rogers Sportsnet On Friday, the Ottawa Senators signed left winger David Perron from Sherbrooke, Quebec. The contract runs for two years and costs $8 million.

Perron joins his sixth National Hockey League franchise. He previously played a total of 11 seasons with the St. Louis Blues, playing three times. He first played with the Blues from 2007-2013, then again from 2016-2017 and then from 2018-2022.

Perron also played with the Edmonton Oilers from 2013 to 2015, two seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2015 to 2016, one season with the Anaheim Ducks in 2016, and one season with the Vegas Golden Knights from 2016 to 2017. During his time with the Blues, Perron was part of the St. Louis franchise that won the Stanley Cup in 2019. The Blues defeated the Boston Bruins in seven games.

Last season, Perron scored 17 goals and 30 assists for 47 points in 76 games with the Red Wings. He had a -12 record with 55 penalty minutes, 17 power play points, four game-winning goals, 151 shots on goal, 16 faceoffs won, 27 blocked shots, 111 hits, 31 turnovers and just 12 turnovers, for a very respectable +19 turnover ratio.

Perron represented the Blues in the 2020 National Hockey League All-Star Game, scoring 25 goals and 35 assists for 60 points in 71 games.
