Toronto, Ontario October 4, 2023SAP SE today announced a partnership with PLATOa majority Indigenous Canadian-owned software testing and technology services company that will help reduce barriers to entry for Indigenous people seeking employment in the technology sector. Through this partnership, SAP will rely on PLATO to provide our customers with the testing expertise needed to successfully launch their projects.

PLATO is 51 percent Indigenous owned and 33 percent of its workforce is First Nations, Inuit and Métis indigenous from across Canada. The company provides meaningful training and jobs in Canada’s technology sector by providing software testing and technology services. As part of this partnership to provide SAP testing services, PLATO is building an internal SAP Center of Excellence, with SAP investing in training and mentoring PLATO employees on SAP technology platforms.

“PLATO has been providing software testing and quality assurance services to customers around the world for over 25 years,” said Keith McIntosh, CEO of PLATO. “With partners like SAP Canada contributing to our success, we can provide new learning and testing opportunities to our growing workforce while making a social impact.”

PLATO has pumped more than $15 million into the Indigenous economy in the form of salaries. By integrating PLATO’s testing experts into the SAP partner ecosystem, SAP can provide the right resources domestically and ensure SAP stays true to its commitments to Indigenous inclusion and education while supporting those who are underrepresented in the technology space.

“By selecting PLATO as our test partner in Canada, we are investing in the Indigenous economy and paving the way for Indigenous businesses and people in technology to be a driving force of Canadian economic growth,” said Kalvin MacDonald, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Cloud Success Services, SAP Canada. “As a technology leader, SAP Canada is committed to supporting Indigenous business and economic development and investing in our communities.”
