Russian referee Anastasia Pustovoitova took second place in the ranking of the best female referees of 2021 according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), which published on the organization’s website.
In April 2021, Pustovoitova became the first female referee to serve in the National Football League (FNL) match between the Chertanovo and SKA-Khabarovsk teams. In addition, the same year, she judged two matches and the final of the women’s football tournament at the Tokyo Olympics between the national teams of Canada and Sweden.
The first place in the ranking since 2019 is occupied by the French Stéphanie Frappard. Third place was taken by Esther Staubli from Switzerland.
During her playing career, Pustovoitova played for Diana, Ryazan-TNK and Rossiyanka, in 1998-2003 she played for the Russian national team. At the end of her sports career, she became a referee, worked in the matches of the women’s championship and the Russian Cup, and since 2009 in the international women’s tournaments.
In 2019, she served as the Head Referee of the Women’s Champions League final match and also served as the Women’s World Championship third place match.
In March last year, she first worked at the Tinkoff – Russian Premier League game between Lokomotiv and Akhmat Grozny as a reserve referee. In addition, she has served several times in Youth Championship and Professional Football League (PFL) matches.
