MOSCOW, December 4 – RIA Novosti. Russian tennis players Aslan Karatsev and Karen Khachanov lost to Germans Kevin Kravitz and Tim Puetz in the doubles match of the Davis Cup semi-final. The match ended 4: 6, 6: 3, 6: 4 in favor of the representatives of Germany. The tennis players spent 1h40 on the court. During the game, the Russians made two out of five break points, made six aces, committed five double faults, actively scored 21 goals and committed eight unforced errors. The Germans had nine aces, two double faults, 28 actively won goals and seven unforced errors, bringing the score to 2-1 in favor of the Russians. The doubles match was irrelevant in the tournament: the Russians won the match against the German national team ahead of schedule and reached the final. The Russian national team is a two-time winner of the Davis Cup (2002, 2006). The last time the Russian team played in the final was in 2007. In the previous draw, the national tennis players reached the semi-finals, where they were stopped by the Canadian team.
