Ronaldo falls to Indonesian striker

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –

Cristiano Ronaldo on the left in the competition for top scorers Qualifying for the 2022 World Cup who is currently dominated by United Arab Emirates player Ali Mabkhout.

The UAE striker has scored 13 goals in 11 appearances in which he has appeared in the 2022 World Cup qualifier since 2019. Five of Mabkhout’s 13 goals have been scored against the Indonesian national team, with three goals in the first game and two goals in the second game.

Mabkhout is three goals ahead of China’s Wu Lei, second on the list of top scorers in the race for 2022 World Cup tickets.

Another goalscorer against Indonesia, Nguyen Tien Linh, also scored seven goals and is ahead of Ronaldo.

While Ronaldo has only scored six goals in five appearances for Portugal since March 2021.

Especially in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers for the European zone, Ronaldo also left behind several players such as Memphis Depay (9 goals), Eran Zahavi (8 goals) and Aleksandar Mitrovic (7 goals).

Ronaldo has so far the same number of goals as Teemu Pukki and Robert Lewandowski.

In the first two games, against Azerbaijan and Serbia, Ronaldo did not score. It’s only in the last three matches that the captain of the Portugal national team has scored six goals. A goal against Luxembourg in the first meeting, two goals against Ireland and a hat-trick against Luxembourg for the second time.

Ronaldo will be aiming for goals again in the Portugal-Ireland game on Friday (12/11) early in the morning. If he can score two goals in the game against Ireland, then Ronaldo will make a record 800 goals.

So far, Ronaldo has scored 798 goals, with details of 683 goals for the club and 115 goals for the Portugal national team.

As well as scoring his 800th goal, Ronaldo would also have the potential to become the top scorer in World Cup qualifying history if he scores three goals.
