Rodger Cuzner | Prime Minister of Canada

Rodger Cuzner is a six-term Member of Parliament and former Consul General of Canada in Boston, United States of America.

Mr. Cuzner began his career as Director of Special Events for the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and as Recreation Director for the Town of Dominion.

In 2000, he was elected to the House of Commons, where he represented his home province of Nova Scotia for 19 years. During this time he held various positions, including Parliamentary Secretary to former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, Head of the Opposition and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development. He also sat on numerous parliamentary committees, associations and groups, including as vice-chair of the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans and director of the Canadian branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

After retiring from politics in 2019, Mr. Cuzner worked in the private sector as a senior advisor at Rubicon Strategies in Ottawa. He was appointed Consul General of Canada in Boston in 2020 and served in that role until earlier this year.

Mr. Cuzner is currently a director of the New England Canada Business Council and a long-time member of the Cape Breton Miners Museum Foundation in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. He was also a member of the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association for 15 years.

Mr. Cuzner holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Kinetics from Saint Francis Xavier University.
