‘Risk below zero’, action on ice

by Naomi Parham

The phenomenon of ice roads

One of the big challenges for winter cities in the United States and Canada is mobility on their roads. In these cities the great rivers become oceans of ice, freeze to form paths of thick, icy, slippery layers. However, they are dangerous to travel, as the weight of the vehicles can break them and create fatal cracks. Another huge risk is mountain melting for drivers and travelers, which can be caught in landslides, storms or floods. The less than zero risk is a representation of the threats of this type of enclaves.

The music also surprises the viewer in this production which has the North American country label and -for this occasion- brought together LA Rats, consisting of Rob Zombie, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Clufetos and John 5, which performs a magnificent cover of the American classic “I’ve Been Everywhere”.

Beautiful scenery and critical applause

This film production also explores the great landscapes of the region of Manitoba, Canada: its northern lights, the mountain range, the endless winter sky and the size of the horizon. Each scene, in addition to the adrenaline rush, features postcards created with the beauty and wintery landscapes of Canada.

The film got very good reviews in terms of production and good pace, the result of its director’s extensive experience in the action genre. The press claims this could be one of Liam Neeson’s best road movies to date.
