Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau tested positive Covid-19 on Monday (31/1). This news was announced by Trudeau himself via uploads to the official Twitter account.
“This morning I tested positive for Covid-19. I feel fine – and will continue to work remotely this week while following public health guidelines. Everyone, please do- vaccinate yourself and get a boost again,” Trudeau tweeted.
According to the Canadian Prime Minister’s office, Trudeau and his family have been in isolation for several days after contracting COVID-19. At least one of Trudeau’s children has also tested positive for Covid-19.
The Trudeau family has reportedly been moved to an undisclosed location as a precaution as protests against health restrictions continue in Ottawa.
Trudeau himself was fully vaccinated and received a booster on January 4. He also briefly isolated himself in March 2020 after his wife, Sophie, was infected with Covid-19.
Several Canadian cabinet ministers, including Secretary of State Mélanie Joly, have been infected with Covid-19 in recent months.
