Alpine driver Pierre Gasly is eagerly anticipating the unpredictable weather conditions that will challenge competitors at the upcoming Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix.
After a string of impressive performances, including a decent seventh place in Monaco, the Frenchman is determined to continue his success.
Gasly achieved his best qualifying result since joining Alpine to secure fourth place in Spain. Unfortunately, disability penalties forced him to start the race from tenth on the grid. Still, Gasly remains optimistic about his prospects at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
After reflecting on his previous race at the conventional Barcelona circuit, Gasly told the media: “We’re back at a street circuit in Montreal, which is really exciting. It’s a fast track with big braking zones and fast corners.” Prepared and excited, he added: “I’ve been training in the Enstone simulator and I’m feeling confident and eagerly awaiting track time on Friday.”
Acknowledging the chance of rain, Gasly said he was prepared for all conditions. He commented: “The weather is looking interesting so we will be prepared for anything and aim for the best possible result.”
In addition, Gasly highlighted the pleasant atmosphere in Montreal, a French-speaking city. Expressing his anticipation of the exceptional support he is receiving there, he stated: “Montreal is a very fun place. I look forward to immersing myself in the lively atmosphere.”
