The arrest was made by officers from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The controversial preacher is accused of disobeying a court ruling and also of not wearing a protective mask against covid-19. According to Calgary Police, he is also accused of resisting and failing to close the church during social isolation, maintaining in-person services.
A video shared on social media shows the moment he was approached by police as he got off the plane. The footage also shows him handcuffed. The pastor showed no resistance.

Pawlowski and his brother, David face jail time after being found guilty of contempt for repeatedly failing to comply with covid-19 health measures and encouraging believers to do the same.
At the height of the pandemic, the brothers organized and promoted large unmasked gatherings at church services in Calgary, Canada, and also refused entry of health workers into the church.
They were even arrested in May after court orders were issued allowing police to arrest anyone who held meetings in violation of health restrictions.
In 2020, Artur Pawlowski was also fined for failing to comply with covid-19 restrictions.
