Paralympians and Other Advocates Set Out on ‘The Amazing Race Canada’

This year’s participants in The Amazing Race Canada say they are setting out to inspire members of their communities. TORONTO – This year’s participants in The Amazing Race Canada say they are setting out to inspire members of their communities.

According to CTV, the teams include Paralympic gold medalist Tyler Turner and his girlfriend Kayleen VanderRee, who want to show disabled people can “take home gold.”

Meanwhile, friends and “drag sisters” Jermaine Aranha and Justin Baird aim to inspire other LGBTQ people.

Teammates Gail Kim and Gisele Shaw are friends as well as former and current pro wrestlers who also say they compete for the LGBTQ community.

Two teams aim to inspire Indigenous youth: siblings Shayla Oulette Stonechild and Joel Oulette, and husband and wife team Deven Condo-Mitchell and Amanda Larocque.

Season 9 of The Amazing Race Canada will air Tuesdays beginning July 4th.

Attendees also include: mental health advocates Ty Smith and Kat Kastner; YouTubers Derek Gottenbos and Jaspal Sidhu; friends Gracie Lowes and Lily Bateman; married couple Allie Seller and Eddie Parinas; and friends Ben Chutta and Anwar Ahmed.
