As part of the deal, clothes, toys and other products related to popular service shows will be delivered to hypermarket shelves. The platform also acquired the Roald Dahl Story Company to create a cinematic universe based on Roald Dahl’s most popular works, including “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, “The Big Good Giant” and “Fantastic Mr. Fox”. Additionally, Netflix has acquired indie game developer Night School, which is in line with plans for video game development on the service. According to co-CEO Reed Hastings, the challenge for Netflix is to bypass Disney in 3-5 years and start providing audiences with an even more immersive overall experience with its content.
