Mysterious lights over Western Canada, Sask. spark a debate

by Ainsley Ingram

Persistent reports of mysterious lights over western Canada are still leaving people wondering where they might be coming from. The sightings follow reports from pilots in the Regina and Winnipeg areas.

Air traffic controllers noted the pilots’ sightings and reported. You can hear pilots talk about what they saw in the video player at the top of this article.

According to Jerry Brodt, regional vice-president of the Canadian Air Traffic Association, such scenarios are more common than you might think.

“It’s not that strange. It happens more often than you think. I am not the result. “I am simply what my air traffic controllers see,” Brodt said.

The mysterious lights reported by pilots in the Regina area are believed to be over Gravelbourg, Sask. About a week later, more mysterious lights were seen over northwestern Ontario.

“They are confused because according to air traffic control there should have been nothing in the sky,” said ufologist Chris Rutkowski.

Potash workers near Esterhazy, Sask. has also taken photos and videos of lights streaking across the sky, but Rutkowski says there’s a simple explanation in this case.

“We’re pretty sure that these were largely Starlink satellite eruptions,” he said.

One of the pilots disputed a similar suggestion, saying what they saw were “definitely not satellites.”

“It did not appear to be satellites, according to the Morningstar pilot who came back and stated twice that it was not a satellite,” Brodt said.

Researchers are asking witnesses to come forward so they can better understand what the strange lights could be.
