“Today, I am taking a big step to correct the mistakes I suffered for five years. To my followers who wonder why I am not working when the careers of my colleagues are booming, the reason is that I was brutally damaged by Zeltiq’s Coolsculpting procedure which does the opposite of what was promised, “Evangelista wrote in the post Instagramnya Thursday (25/9).

He says he suffers from a rare side effect called paradoxical fat hyperplasia (PAH). Besides the physical changes, he also said that the side effects made him feel depression, deep sadness and self-hatred.

Evangelista filed a lawsuit Tuesday (9/21) in New York City court against Zeltiq Aesthetics. He said the company did not warn customers of the possible side effects.

The lawsuit says Evangelista underwent multiple fat reduction procedures on her thighs, abdomen, back, pelvis, and chin in 2015 and 2016.

Meanwhile, Zeltiq Aesthetics, which is an Allergan Aesthetics unit, has not commented on this incident.
