The Hamilton Tiger-Cats won their fourth game of the 2024 Canadian Football League season on Saturday, pulling off an upset at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton, Ontario, as Hamilton defeated the Ottawa Redblacks 37-21. It’s been a solid season for the Redblacks, who are second in the Eastern Division with 17 points (eight wins, four losses and one tie), but they struggled as a unit in their 16-point loss on Saturday.

A Canadian scored a touchdown for the Tiger-Cats. With one minute and 27 seconds left in the third quarter, Ante Milanovic-Litre of Vancouver, British Columbia, caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Bo Levi Mitchell, giving Hamilton a 28-6 lead at the time. Milanovic-Litre’s touchdown catch was his only pass of the game. He also had 10 carries for 36 rushing yards.

In 2024, Milanovic-Litre has 34 carries for 97 rushing yards and two touchdowns, as well as four catches for 38 receiving yards and another touchdown. This is his first season in Hamilton, after five seasons with the Calgary Stampeders (2017 to 2021) and one season each with the Edmonton Elks (2022) and Ottawa Redblacks (2023).

In other Canadian football news, the late Ed Laverty of Ottawa, Ontario, was officially inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in Hamilton on Saturday. Laverty was president of the Ottawa Nepean Touch Football League and the Ontario Touch Football League.
