Mention 6 complaints during a move to Canada, Sacha Stevenson: It’s easier in Indonesia

by Edie Jenkins

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com– Actress and YouTuber Sacha Stevenson or also known as Sasa Seno recounts his experience after moving to his home country, Canada.

Besides several advantages such as a better school for his children without having to spend a lot of money, Sacha, who has lived in Indonesia for a long time, admitted that he was surprised by several things.

From the issue of data packages to everything related to appointments, Sacha, who has just moved to Canada for a month, is not used to it.

In fact, he had experienced this when he left Canada for Indonesia.

However, because he lived in Indonesia for a long time, Sacha got used to the various facilities available.

Quoted from his YouTube content, it is Sacha’s story and complaints that make him think Indonesia is more convenient than where he currently lives in Canada.

The transfer between banks must be done by e-mail

In Indonesia, sending money between banks or between banks can be done very easily, it is not the case in Canada.

“They have to go through email, they can’t (directly). In Indonesia, the BCA Mobile download is easy to send to BRI or BNI,” Sacha said.

Not only that, although the transfer between his own accounts, Sacha is suspected of fraud.

“I want to send it from Sacha Stevenson to Sacha Stevenson but it’s a different bank than the email sent,” he said.

“This was also rejected because “Fraud detected”, from Sacha Stevenson to Sacha Stevenson, it’s another bank fraud detected please contact your supplier“Sacha repeated.

Everyone must make an appointment

In addition to the transfer issue, Sacha’s husband also added difficulties when opening a new account.

Cannot come directly to the bank and meet with customer service as is usually the case in Indonesia.

In Canada, they must first make an appointment.

“We just have to make an appointment here,” said Angga Prasetya, Sacha’s husband.

“Cannot open a bank account directly. The first bank told us to wait 1 week, like ‘oh you want to open an account, oh you’re in a hurry, it’s been a long time to open an account here, right next week still here, ”said Sacha, imitating the words of the Bank employees.

Outside of the bank, when they plan to change tires, have their hair cut, or just walk around the house, they need to make an appointment.

“(Sacha’s mother said) We have to call first, make an appointment, then wait for the schedule from her (tire shop), then I said ‘hah, just change the tires, you have to make an appointment, ”Angga said, laughing back.

Expensive tire replacement

Sacha and Angga were once again surprised by the facts found when they intended to change car tires in Canada.

“A tire is 40 or 50 dollars, it’s 4 tires, that means almost 200 dollars (Canada), no taxes yet, not yet if something is damaged it must be replaced, 3 million Rp. seems too fair to replace it, “Angga says.

“3 million rupees in Bandung, I can buy new tires and rims, it’s just a matter of changing tires,” he continued.

Expensive data plan

Used to seeing the prices of cheap data plans in Indonesia, Sacha admitted that he was surprised to learn that he had to pay $ 80 to get a mobile data plan.

“In Indonesia we are using WhatsApp, here if people are using WhatsApp, ‘you know, you are rich,’” Sacha said.

“Use a mobile plan, call as much as you want, as many texts as you want, but data is only given up to 2 GB for $ 80 (over Rp 800,000),” Sacha continued.

Because of this, people only use phone and SMS, don’t use WhatsApp.

For now, Sacha uses a free chat app and relies on the Wi-Fi at her mother’s house.

Therefore, until now, he did not have a Canadian phone number.

“I can’t afford it” Oujar Sacha.

In search of complicated and expensive rent

Compared to their house in Bali which is equipped with a swimming pool, Sacha and Angga admit that the money to have such a house in Bali means nothing when they move to Canada.

“Here, that kind of money is not enough, we need more money and even there we get a little place, and that is also what they are asking for a lot,” Sacha said.

As before, when they go to visit a house virtually, they must also make an appointment and register to see their balance sheet.

“Before giving a virtual view, you need to apply first, then we will check whether you are a good person or not, and if we choose you to watch online, then you will be able to see our house,” said Sacha, imitating the words of the owner.

Electricity must have the mother’s signature

When they want to install electricity in a rented house, they also need a signature from Sacha’s mother as a surety.

“If you want to install the electricity in a new lease, you have to have my mother’s signature because they don’t believe that I will pay for the electricity,” Sacha said.

“And I think Indonesia is so much more advanced with prepaid electricity (and I think Indonesia is much more advanced with prepaid electricity), ”he continued.

Hospital closed

When they need the help of a doctor, they also cannot go to the hospital in the area where they live and have to go to the next town.

This is because the hospitals in their area are closed.

“The hospital is closed. emergency closingucap Sacha.

“Because the nurse is not there with the doctor,” Angga continued.
