OTTAWA, October 14. / TASS /. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will announce the composition of the country’s new government on October 25. This was announced on Thursday by the television channel Radio-Canada with reference to their sources.
They say new faces will appear in government, and some of the former department heads may leave the cabinet. In particular, the head of the defense ministry, Harjit Singh Sajan, can change positions and a woman can head the defense department. Also, the Prime Minister intends to maintain his gender approach in the appointment of ministers, when the portfolios are equally divided between men and women. Earlier, Trudeau confirmed that his deputy and head of the finance ministry, Christia Freeland, would keep her posts.
On September 20, early parliamentary elections were held in Canada. The Liberal Party managed to win 159 of 338 terms in the lower house of parliament, which allowed Trudeau to retain the post of prime minister, who will now form a minority government. For a complete victory in the elections, it was necessary to obtain at least 170 seats.
