Madonna announced a new world greatest hits tour and its first stop will be in Canada.
The announced pop icon Madonna: The Celebration Tour Tuesday, revealing that the first show will take place in Vancouver on July 15.
She announced the tour in a Youtube video which features Madge playing a risque game of Truth or Dare while dining with fellow Hollywood stars including Amy Schumer, Judd Apatow, Lil Wayne, Eric Andre, Bob the Drag Queen and more.
The five-minute video ends with Schumer challenging Madonna to “go on a world tour and play your muthaf-ing greatest hits”.
“Four decades?” asks Madonna. “All those songs? – which has the whole room singing their favorite Madonna classics.
In her media announcement, Madonna added: “I am delighted to explore as many songs as possible hoping to give my fans the show they’ve been waiting for.
The singer announced three Canadian dates on the 35-city tour, which runs from mid-July to early December:
- July 15 – Vancouver, Rogers Arena
- August 13 – Toronto, Scotiabank Arena
- August 19 – Montreal, Bell Center
Fun fact: Turns out the Montreal date is three days after the Material Girl’s birthday, so maybe she’ll be celebrating her 65th birthday in the city.
Other stops include dates across the United States and 12 stops in Europe.
For members of the public, tickets go on sale Friday, January 20. Former members of the official Madonna fan club will be able to collect their tickets from Tuesday morning January 17.
