A founding member of the band behind songs like “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” and “Takin’ Care Of Business” has died.
The co-founder and lead singer of Canadian rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive has reportedly died on Friday of complications from cancer.
“My dad passed away this afternoon,” Tim’s son Ryder Bachman wrote in a heartfelt Facebook post on Friday.
The musician’s son thanked his father’s supporters for the kind words and support during the difficult period.
“Grateful that I got to spend some time with him at the end,” he added. “Grab your loved ones and hug them tight, you never know how long you have left.”
Ryder announced that he received word on Wednesday that his father was suffering from health complications.
“He had some complications and they rushed him to the emergency room and found his brain was riddled with cancer,” he wrote.
As soon as he got the news, he went to the hospital to spend some final moments together.
“He was pretty beat up most of the time, but at one point he just looked at me with really big eyes and said, ‘I love you Paxton, keep sharing the music,'” Ryder said.
He noted that his father was treated in his final days to “make him comfortable.”
Fans and loved ones paid tribute to the rock star on social media.
“It was a pleasure to know him and to be his friend. I will never forget the stories he shared with us and the time we got to spend with him,” Brandon Clark wrote.
Many remembered the rock legend.
“My condolences to you and your family brother. I treasured Tim’s friendship and always enjoyed the time we shared and shared stories,” added Warren Grosland.
Tim founded Bachman-Turner Overdrive with his brothers Randy and Robbie and CF Turner in Winnipeg.
The band was known for their hits “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”, “Takin’ Care of Business”, “Hey You” and “Roll On Down The Highway”.
The group played together from 1973 to 1974 and sold millions of records over the decade.
The star’s death comes just months after his brother Robbie Bachman also passed away at the age of 69.
