Leclerc represents Ferrari’s demand for the Canadian GP

by Ainsley Ingram

Charles Leclerc has urged Ferrari to “focus on ourselves” and “understand” its issues surrounding Formula 1’s Pirelli tires ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix.

The Monegasque driver secured Ferrari’s only podium of the year with a positive performance at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix – where he also secured pole position – but otherwise the Scuderia have had a miserable season.

Several crashes nullified progress, and even after successful qualifying efforts, tire wear issues have left the SF-23s behind compared to their rivals Mercedes and Aston Martin.

This was evident on a disastrous weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix when Leclerc only qualified 19th and failed to return to the top 10, leaving him goalless with an 11th place finish.

Maximize the upgrade

This weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix follows Ferrari’s triumph at the Le Mans 24 Hours and gives the Scuderia a chance to make progress with their F1 commitment.

Discussions with media, including RacingNews365.comLeclerc emphasized: “We have to focus on ourselves and try to understand what’s going on with the tires and get them into the right window more often.”

“Try to understand this upgrade and try to maximize it in the next few races – let’s see what happens.”
