by Rex Daniel

Cryptocurrency exchange headquartered in San Francisco octopus has Appointment of Alexandre Mehrdad as new General Manager of their Canadian operations.

The news follows a year of rapid growth for Kraken’s Canadian business under the leadership of Mark Greenberg, which culminated with Greenberg’s promotion to head a brand new division in Kraken’s global business.

Last year, Greenberg successfully doubled the size of Kraken’s Canadian business while the company completed the Pre-Registration Undertaking (PRU) process.

During this period of sustained growth, Mehrdad was also a key member of Kraken’s Canadian team, leveraging his background in management consulting and expertise in building and scaling fintech startups, resulting in the number of Canadian users transacting monthly doubling year-to-date.

“I am excited to lead this important next phase of our Canadian expansion story. We have developed a compelling proposition for our local customers and are now one of the largest crypto employers with over 250 Krakenites across Canada,” said Mehrdad.

“I am committed to ensuring Kraken remains a household name in the local crypto ecosystem and that we break down the barriers that still prevent some Canadians from achieving financial freedom through crypto assets.”

Mehrdad takes the reins as Kraken prepares for another period of rapid growth in the Canadian cryptocurrency space, which will undoubtedly include tapping into Canadian institutional demand for the highest quality crypto products.
