TORONTO — Justin Bieber is suspending his Justice World Tour for the second time this year, citing burnout.
The Canadian pop superstar announced on his Instagram account that he would be taking a break from the road to focus on his health.
Bieber says that after playing a show in Brazil on Sunday, he felt exhausted and realized he needed to “rest and get better.”
He did not say whether the dates for his tour, which was scheduled to run until 2023, will be postponed.
In June, Bieber shelved the North American leg of his tour, including two dates in Toronto, to deal with the fallout from his diagnosis of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, which temporarily paralyzed half of his face. .
The Stratford, Ont., singer returned the following month with a gig in Italy, but says playing a total of six dates that culminated with Rock in Rio’s performance in Brazil over the weekend “took a real impact” on him.
“After coming off stage, exhaustion overtook me and I realized I had to make my health a priority right now,” the 28-year-old wrote in a message to fans.
“So I’m going to take a break from touring for the time being. I’ll be fine, but I need time to rest and get better.
The Justice World Tour still had nearly 70 dates scheduled in South America, South Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
