British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in a telephone conversation stressed the importance of interaction with Russia on the situation in Ukraine. This was reported in the UK Prime Minister’s office, reports RIA Novosti.
As stated in the message, among other issues, the leaders of the two countries discussed the current situation “on the border with Ukraine. “They agreed on the importance of engaging with Russia to defuse the situation and prevent further attacks,” they added.
Earlier, Western countries warned Russia of the large-scale consequences of aggression against Ukraine. A joint statement was made by the representations of the United States, Great Britain, Germany, France, Canada, Ukraine, Poland, a number of other countries Europeans, as well as the EU to the UN.
