Human in Motion Robotics wins $663,000 contract from Innovative Solutions Canada for the Department of National Defense

VANCOUVER, BC, September 13, 2022 /PRNewswire/ – Human in Motion Robotics Inc. (HMR) is delighted to announce that it has received an award $663,000 CAD contract by Innovative Solutions Canada (ISC) for the Department of National Defense Canada (DND). The contract calls for the Canadian government to purchase two units of HMR’s next-generation lower extremity exoskeleton, XoMotion, which is a wearable robot designed to enable people to get out of wheelchairs and walk with mobility again. and total independence. Once delivered, the units will be deployed to a clinical trial site, namely the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Islandfor implementation and evaluation by DND.

HMR’s patented and disruptive medical technology offers a dramatic improvement in the rehabilitation of people with reduced mobility in clinics or in daily life at home with a host of distinctive and innovative features. It is essentially a self-balancing bipedal robot capable of performing hands-free dynamic walking and other complex maneuvers for everyday use. HMR received pre-qualified innovation approval for 2021 CIS trial stream funding, under Call for Proposals 001 issued by Public Works and Government Services Canada on behalf of Innovation, Science and Canada Economic Development. HMR has worked with ISC and the Federal Department’s proposed innovation tester/sponsor, DND, over the past year to finalize the award of this contract in July 2022.
