Ryan Reynolds poked fun at Hugh Jackman again when ET Canada’s Morgan Hoffman met him at the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards on Friday.
Reynolds, who managed to lure Jackman into the upcoming movie Deadpool 3, recently posted a photo from the gym to Instagram with the caption, “Keeping Up With The Jackmans.”

When Hoffman asked how training for the highly anticipated sequel went, the Canadian actor joked, “I’m trying… Hugh Jackman is a beast, you know? He’s obviously obsessed with his own body. So it will be a challenge to keep up with someone who is so diligent.”
Jackman responded on Twitter: “More like petrified. Have you seen yourself?

Reynolds and Jackman sparked an online furor back in September after confirming Jackman would reprise his role as Wolverine for the film.
“It was fun. I mean, he and I are both really excited. We’ve wanted to do this for a decade, so I think now is the perfect time for this opportunity,” said Reynolds, who is at this year’s CSAs from the Canadian Academy for his humanitarian work.
Reynolds said of what he said to Jackman to get him on board, “I mean, I never stopped… I’ve just been pestering him like a gnat for the last few years. I believe in the timing… and I think he was ready.
“I think he was excited. And what we presented to him was so different from the character he knows and the character he left behind that it gives him something completely new to play and something he’s really looking forward to.”
