Hadwin in the race after the second round of American Express 2024

Adam Hadwin of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, is in contention after 36 holes at the 2024 American Express in Palm Springs, California. The 36-year-old sits in fifth place at -14, three shots behind leader Sam Burns of the United States.

Hadwin shot two consecutive rounds of seven-under-par 65s. He had six birdies, an eagle and a bogey in the first round at the Nicklaus Tournament Course. Hadwin birdied the fourth, seventh, ninth, 12th, 13th and 17th holes. He made an eagle on the 11th hole and bogeyed the 10th hole. In round two, Hadwin had seven birdies and zero bogeys. He made birdies on the seventh, eighth, 11th, 12th, 14th, 16th and 18th holes on the Pete Dye Stadium Course.

Burns is now at -17. He is one shot ahead of fellow American Michael Kim, who is in second place at -16. Two golfers tied for third place at -15. The South Korean KH Lee and the American amateur Nick Dunlap can be found there. Hadwin is now in a six-way tie for fifth place at -14. He is tied on points with Americans Eric Cole and Patrick Cantlay, South Korea’s Si Woo Kim, South Korea’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Sweden’s Alex Noren.

Hadwin has had success at American Express in the past. He came second in 2017 and 2019.
