Green Technology Metals Commences Three-Stage Exploration Program Across Canada’s Lithium Portfolio

Green Technology Metals Ltd (ASX:GT1) has embarked on an extensive field exploration season and intends to expand its existing 22.5 million tonne lithium resource base in projects near a proposed lithium conversion facility at the Port of Thunder Bay in Ontario, Canada.

At the Root Project, GT1 will be searching for new discoveries to the east and west of the highly prospective Root Bay Project, where the Company recently presented an initial resource estimate of 8.1 million tonnes grading 1.32% lithium.

The Company will also test outcropping spodumene at the “Goldilocks Zone” at the Allison project and similar outcropping mineralization at the Pennock, Trist, Superb and Tape Lake projects.

“The exploration season has started at Root Bay with immediate success. Exploration teams have entered all of our 56,000 hectares of world-class lithium properties to bolster our 22.5 million tonnes of resources created during the 2022 exploration season,” said Luke Cox, CEO of Green Technology Metals.

Three-phase exploration

GT1 is exploring its lithium portfolio in three phases this exploration season:

  • Phase 1 – Field Exploration at the Tape Lake Target – Junior Lake, Superb Lake, Root, Allison. Infill well Root Bay.
  • Phase 2 – Field Exploration – Junior Lake, Pennock, North Seymour, Falcon.
  • Phase 3 – Infill drilling of Seymour’s priority exploration targets generated from Phase 1 and 2 field exploration.

Drilling has already begun at Root Bay where GT1 aims to complete 22,000 meters of extension and infill drilling – 19 holes totaling 3,741 meters have been completed to date with results expected sometime in July.

The Company is conducting extensive field exploration at the deposit, which has already identified lithium cesium tantalum (LCT) pegmatite outcrops along a 1.4 kilometer strike.

Project sites in Ontario.
