The Goodman School of Business at Brock University has received accreditation from the European Foundation for the Development of Management (EFMD) for one of its flagship offerings – the International Co-operative Double Degree Bachelor of Business Administration Program .
The program – which grants students two degrees, one from Brock and the other from a European partner university, while providing students with work experience on both continents – earned accreditation from the EFMD program in the month latest.
“I am extremely proud of our school for receiving this accreditation,” said Goodman Dean Andrew Gaudes. “This program is unlike any other in Canada and achieving accreditation reflects the dedication of our staff and faculty to creating a program that provides students with a unique global experience of the highest quality. “
Only five Canadian business schools, including Goodman, have received EFMD program accreditation.
Barbara Sporn, director of accreditation for the EFMD program, said the organization is happy to welcome Goodman’s dual degree program to the pool of EFMD accredited programs.
“We were very impressed with the school’s approach to internationalization, the international training and experience of its faculty to its strong network of international partnerships,” said Sporn. “This achievement illustrates the school’s commitment to continuous improvement in the quality of its program, and we look forward to supporting them in this adventure.
The three-year accreditation recognizes the quality of education at Brock and European partner schools and comes after an in-depth analysis of the program by the EFMD peer review team, which included a virtual visit to the Goodman School in May.
Goodman’s newly accredited program includes partnerships with Lancaster University Management School in the UK, NEOMA Business School in France, Dublin City University in Ireland and European Business School as well as ESB Reutlingen University in Germany. The dual degree program consists of four to four and a half years of study and work experience, with tuition for Goodman students paid to Brock.
