Foreign Minister Retno with Italian and Canadian Foreign Ministers in Rome discuss Indonesian Presidency at G20 2022

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Indonesian Foreign Minister (RI) Retno Marsudi paid a working visit to attend a meeting between G20 foreign ministers to be held in Bari and Matera.

During the visit, the Indonesian Foreign Minister also had a meeting with 2 Foreign Ministers namely Italian Foreign Minister Luigi di Maio and Canadian Foreign Minister on Sunday (6/27/2021 ).

“Yesterday, June 27, in Rome, I held 2 bilateral meetings, each with the Italian foreign minister and the Canadian foreign minister,” Retno said at a press conference on Monday (28/6 / 2021).

One of the topics discussed with each of the foreign ministers of the two countries was related to the Indonesian presidency of the G20 in 2022.

This year Italy is chairing the G20 and next year it will be Indonesia’s turn to become the chair of the G20.

RI – Italy has agreed to commit to supporting each other.

The two countries also discussed a number of bilateral cooperation.

“We also agreed to discuss trade cooperation, investments, vaccines and a number of regional and international issues,” Retno said.

Meanwhile, the Canadian, Indonesian and Canadian foreign ministers began negotiating the Indonesia-Canada CEPA.

The Indonesian Foreign Minister said bilaterally that Indonesia welcomed the start of Indonesia-Canada negotiations on CEPA.
