Edible banana-controlled video game becomes an attraction in Canada – globo rural magazine

by Tess Hutchinson

A Canadian supermarket chain has adapted an old Apple Macintosh into a video game device controlled by three wired bananas. That’s right, bananas, that common fruit with yellow skin.

The player purchases a set of three bananas in personalized 8-bit packaging from the supermarket, with stickers to label each of the “buttons” and instructions on how to tie the bananas. After the game it is possible to eat the “controls”, which are biodegradable. The game is Aisles of Glory: Legends of the Haul.

According to The Drum site, the No Frills chain ordered the unconventional control as a joke with the use of the fruit, the color of which is present in the brand. The chain enlisted the services of an agency that partnered with a tech company capable of turning ordinary fruit into a limited edition Frill Blaster Pro controller.

Special control has been handed over to guest game influencers on TikTok, who have been encouraged to play together through September 16, with the promise of points, extra levels, and character modes for top scorers.
