Santo Domingo, Feb. 24 (EFE).- Center Eloy Vargas, shooter Víctor Liz and striker Ángel Luis Delgado lead the Dominican basketball team that will face Canada and the Bahamas next Saturday and Sunday, in Saint -Domingue, in the second phase of the Americas qualifying window for next year’s World Cup.
Coach Melvyn López felt the team was made up of a “select group” of experienced young players of great value to the aspirations of the “Quisqueyano” side to extend their unbeaten record of two wins.
López made his final selection after concluding training this Thursday at the Palacio de los Deportes in the Dominican capital, where the two games will take place.
The Dominican team will play against Canada on Saturday February 26 and against the Bahamas on Sunday February 27, with both games starting at 6:00 p.m. local time, at the Palacio de los Deportes.
“These players have a lot of value for the aspirations of the national team and we count on them,” said López, who assured that the goal was to reach a third consecutive participation in the Basketball World Cup. , which will be held this time in Japan, Philippines and Indonesia.
