Diljit Dosanjh has captured hearts around the world with his music and even Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau could not resist him. Trudeau appeared at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, where Diljit was scheduled to perform. Diljit wrote on Instagram about the Prime Minister’s visit: “Diversity is the strength of California. Prime Minister @justinpjtrudeau came to see history being made: we sold out the Rogers Centre!”

Diljit shared a video of Trudeau at the venue in which the prime minister can be seen shaking hands with the Punjabi singer. He then greeted his dance troupe chanting “Trudeau, Trudeau,” who then began chanting “Diljit, Diljit.”

Trudeau also returned the love, sharing pictures of himself at the Rogers Centre. He wrote: “Stopped by the Rogers Centre to wish @diljitdosanjh luck before his show.”

He praised Diljit for the sold-out stadiums in Canada.

“Canada is a great country – one where a man from Punjab can make history and fill stadiums. Diversity is not just our strength. It is a superpower.”

Particularly noteworthy: Almost 50,000 people attended Diljit’s concert on Saturday at the Rogers Centre. The last show was part of his Dil Luminati tour, which ended in Toronto.

Dil Luminati Tour

The tour began in April in Vancouver, where over 50,000 people attended his show. The Dil Luminati tour recently took him to Los Angeles.

Previously, Diljit appeared The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to promote his tour. In the popular evening show he played his hits “GOAT” and “Born To Shine”.

Diljit was also the first Punjabi singer to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last year and his performance was much appreciated.
