Cuba extends medical services to tourists

Cayo Santa María, Dec 9 (ACN) The Commercialization of Cuban Medical Services (SMC) improves and expands its catalog of healthcare services for international travelers vacationing in the largest of the West Indies, said Anaisis Amoró Gómez, its promotion specialist today.

He mentioned exclusively to the Cuban News Agency that the most requested services are those related to the quality and well-being of life, minimal access surgeries, bariatric surgery (a set of surgeries aimed at reduce stomach capacity) and more recently that of the application of doses of Cuban vaccines against Covid-19 as part of the tourist package.

In this sense, he explained that the system is perfected so that the customer knows the exact place where he can be immunized and more details about the process.

He added that one of the new services of the SMC is the brigade, composed mainly of physiotherapists, which will be distributed in tourist establishments in order to improve the quality of life and the well-being of visitors, with services such as the yoga and dance therapy. .

He also mentions that tourists treated at the minimum access clinic can travel accompanied by their family members, who have the option of making excursions to places of interest, recreational or heritage sites.

The specialist, who made statements to ACN at a trade fair at III Gaviota Destination Tourist Exchange, said the meeting serves to promote SMC programs and establish contacts with travel agencies. , in addition to having had conversations with Mexican and Canadian companies.

Cuba thus reinforces its image as a more and more complete tourist destination, at a time when the world demands quality health services like never before, supported by the security it provides in times of pandemic.

The tourism group Gaviota has organized its tourism exchange, which will last until the 12th and is dedicated to the meeting segment, in order to socialize with travel agents, hoteliers and tour operators on the resumption of activity and the preparation of facilities hoteliers in the new normal.
