Arizona Coyotes goaltender Connor Ingram of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan recorded his seventh career shutout in the National Hockey League. He did so on Friday in the Coyotes’ 4-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona.

Ingram made 28 saves for the shutout. He made six saves in the first period, 17 in the second period and five saves in the third period. Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane each had four shots on goal to lead the Red Wings.

Two Canadians scored for the Coyotes. They were center Jack McBain of Toronto, Ontario, who scored the game-winning goal at 2:35 of the first period to open the scoring, and Alexander Kerfoot of Vancouver, British Columbia, who gave the Coyotes a 2-0 lead.

In the 2023-24 season, Ingram has a record of 18 wins, 16 regulation losses and three overtime losses. He has a goals-against average of 2.78 and a save percentage of .911. Ingram also has six shutouts this season, tied for the most in the NHL with Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry of Surrey, British Columbia. All seven of Ingram’s career NHL shutouts came with the Coyotes.

The Coyotes have won three games in their last five games. Previously, they were on a 14-game losing streak.
