Arizona Coyotes goaltender Connor Ingram of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, recorded his fifth career National Hockey League shutout on Friday. He achieved this feat in the Coyotes’ 2-0 victory over the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Ingram made 28 saves. He made 10 saves in the first period, seven in the second period and 11 in the third period. Sam Carrick of Markham, Ontario, Jamie Drysdale of Toronto, Ontario and Frank Vatrano led the Ducks with three shots on goal. Lawson Crouse of Mount Brydges, Ont., was one of the Coyotes’ two scorers.
In the 2023/24 season, Ingram has a record of 13 wins. seven losses and four shutouts, along with a 2.49 goals-against average and .919 save percentage. Ingram’s other three shutouts this season included a 2-0 Coyotes victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on November 25th, a 6-0 Coyotes victory over the Washington Capitals on December 4th and a 1-0 victory by the Coyotes over the San Jose Sharks on December 15th. Ingram’s four NHL shutouts this season are tied for the most in the NHL with Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry of Surrey, British Columbia. Ingram’s other NHL career shutdown was a 1-0 Coyotes victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on February 15, 2023.
With the win, the Coyotes improve to a record of 19 wins, 14 regulation losses and two overtime losses, a combined 40 points. They are in seventh place in the Western Conference.
