Connor Ingram records his fourth career NHL shutout

Arizona Coyotes goaltender Connor Ingram of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, recorded his fourth shutout in the National Hockey League and his third of the season on Friday. He achieved this feat in the Coyotes’ 1-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona.

Ingram totaled 21 saves. He had nine saves in the first period, five saves in the second period and seven saves in the third period.

Matias Maccelli scored the only goal of the game. It came from former Edmonton Oilers forward Nick Bjugstad and JJ Moser with five minutes and fifteen seconds left in the second period.

Ingram is one of three goaltenders in the National Hockey League with a league-leading three shutouts this season. He will be joined by Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry of Surrey, British Columbia and Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko.

Ingram’s two other shutouts this season came on November 25th in the Coyotes’ 2-0 win over the Vegas Golden Knights and on December 4th in the Coyotes’ 6-0 win over the Washington Capitals on December 4th. Previously, Ingram beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 1-1. 0 during his time with the Coyotes on February 15, 2023.

As of the 2023-24 season, Ingram has a record of 12 wins and six losses, with a goals-against average of 2.41 and a save percentage of .923. The Coyotes have the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. They have a record of 14 wins, 13 regulation losses and two overtime losses, or 30 points. The Coyotes have one point more than the ninth-place St. Louis Blues.
