Cindy Lee playing American Legion Post 111 on November 3, 2023 in Tampa, Florida.

Hypnotic synthesizer, ’60s pop and blistering bass come together under the moniker Cindy Lee, all from Pat Plegel, leader of the Canadian indie rock band Women, which imploded in 2010.

Inspired by artists like The Supremes and Patsy Cline, Flegel uses Cindy Lee for an exploration of melody and loneliness on albums like 2020’s What’s tonight for eternity?which was expected to generate a lot of buzz at this show, originally planned for Tampa’s recently closed and hopefully relocating Born Free Pub & Grill.

Multi-hyphenated Canadian lo-fi duo Freak Heat Waves perform a DJ set to open this huge show for the DIY scene, which sees local art-pop favorite Mtvh1n1 release a new EP and branch out from their current one Cast farewell. Those under 18 may participate with a legal guardian.

Tickets for Cindy Lee’s performance at American Legion Post 111 in Tampa on Friday, November 3rd are still available for $15, but you’ll have to head to Mojo Books & Records in Tampa to snag one. If you don’t, tickets are available at the door on Friday for $20.
