Authorities in the People’s Republic of China have imposed sanctions on a number of US and Canadian officials. About that reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
The reason for the department’s decision is called the introduction by the United States and Canada of “unilateral sanctions against affected natural and legal persons in Xinjiang on March 22, based on rumors and misinformation.”
In the list of sanctions, in particular. hit:
- Gail Manchin, president of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom;
- Vice-President of the Commission, Tony Perkins;
- Conservative MP Michael Chong.
In addition, the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development of the House of Commons of Canada fell under sanctions.
