In addition, the words “Canada-Russia border month” are included in the video description.

This TikTok video has received 7.9 million views, has been shared 20,000 times, but the comments section is disabled.

Is this true about the information in the video?

According to the research, the video was first uploaded to the Tiktok account @aleksey__nz on May 17, 2021. He wrote a number of hashtags #moon #foryoupage #cosmos # 2021 #Odessa #space. In addition to TikTok, the account uploaded the video to Twitter, Youtube.

To date, the original video has been viewed over 32.9 million times with 3.7 million likes, 45,000 comments and has been shared 101,000 times by other users.

But then that video spread across all social media including YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok, with various accounts including of a large lunar eclipse covering the sun.

In fact, referring to the explanation of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) it is disinformation.

According to Pussainsa LAPAN researchers Andi Princeg, the video is not a lunar eclipse video. Instead, it’s a video simulation of when the moon is 10 times closer than it is today.

In addition, if the video is associated with the total lunar eclipse (GBT) that occurred on May 26, it is also incorrect. Andi explained that the last GBT could not be seen at both poles of the Earth.

While according to the old factcheck.afp the video is not true, the claims made are false.

The video was created by a digital artist based in Ukraine using computer-generated images.
