Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown of London, Ont., recorded his first career National Football League touchdown on Sunday. He accomplished this feat in the Bengals’ 34-14 victory over the Indianapolis Colts at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Brown’s touchdown opened the scoring after six minutes and 31 seconds. It was a 54-yard touchdown catch by Jake Browning. Brown actually caught the pass about three yards behind the line of scrimmage, ran downfield and impressively evaded a tackle attempt by safety Rodney Thomas.

Brown had three catches for 80 yards on Sunday and also had eight rushes for 25 yards. Brown actually led the Bengals with 80 receiving yards, and he was second on the team with 105 total yards. Only running back Joe Mixon had more total yards, as he had 125 total yards (79 rushing and 46 receiving yards).

In 2023, Brown has 19 carries for 92 yards. He also has six catches for 87 yards. Brown was the Bengals’ fifth-round pick, 163rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. The rookie played his college football at Illinois.

With the win, the Bengals improved to a record of seven wins and six losses. All four teams in the AFC North are currently over .500. The Baltimore Ravens lead with 10 wins and three losses. The Cleveland Browns are in second place with eight wins and five losses. The Bengals are tied for third place with the Steelers.

There is a six-way tie for sixth place in the American Football Conference standings. The Bengals and Steelers are tied with the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans. The seven best teams in the conference reach the playoffs.
