About Charlie Chaplin
“A day without laughter is a day wasted,” said Sir Charles Spencer “Charlie” Chaplin. Given our current situation, we should all work harder to make this adage a reality.
Considered one of the greatest comedians of all time, Charlie Chaplin began his career in silent films in Hollywood. His attention to detail and commitment made it possible for silent films to gain such importance that they were remembered for generations.
Born in London on April 16, 1889, Charlie had the genes of a performer. His father was an actor and singer while his mother was a popular singer and actress. However, due to the sudden death of their father and their mother’s deteriorating health, Charlie and his brother Sydney had to take to the stage at an early age.
