CHANTAL MARCHESE JOINS CLARITI STRATEGIC ADVISORS™ AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, LEGAL DIRECTOR AND HEAD, PRIVATE CAPITAL

TORONTO, February 3, 2022 /CNW/ – Clariti Strategic Advisors™ (“Clariti”) is pleased to announce that Ms. Chantal Marchese joins us as Managing Director, General Counsel and, subject to regulatory approval, head of our Private Capital practice, which focuses on assisting our issuer clients in sourcing and raising debt, equity and hybrid capital on a private placement basis through our subsidiary, Clariti Capital Markets Inc.

Chantal brings to the firm a wealth of differentiated legal and commercial experience, having spent several years with a global investment bank, a Canadian banking regulator and in private practice.

Prior to joining Clariti, Chantal served as Senior Legal Counsel at RBC Capital Markets, where she led a number of key initiatives for the Fixed Income, FX, Commodities and Derivatives investment banking businesses. worldwide. She has extensive experience in derivatives and cross-border commodity finance transactions and played a pivotal role in negotiating RBC’s first long-term financial power purchase agreement with a renewable energy provider – a first for a Canadian bank and a historic transaction for RBC.

Earlier in her career, Chantal was counsel to the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), a federal Crown corporation that provides deposit insurance against the loss of eligible deposits of member institutions in the event of of bankruptcy. CDIC is the resolution authority for from Canada national systemically important banks. At SADC, Chantal contributed to the drafting and negotiation of the financial services and procurement chapters of major international trade agreements, worked on the development of new banking resolution tools and assessed the systemic risks associated with the financial sector. Prior to her time at SADC, Chantal worked in private practice where she primarily supported technology clients and start-ups.

Chantal is a member of the Bar of Ontario (LSO) and Women in Capital Markets, and regularly volunteers for the LSO’s Lawyers Feed the Hungry breakfast service. Chantal holds a JD and an LL.L from University of Ottawaand a BA (Honours) from York University.
