The CW is upgrading its fall 2023 schedule — and bringing a few familiar faces back to the network.

The station has partnered with Canadian broadcaster CTV and Fremantle Sullivan’s Crossinga family drama about a neurosurgeon (Morgan Kohan from Hallmark’s When hope calls), who returns to her small hometown after a professional scandal. Gilmore Girls alum Scott Patterson and former A hill of trees Leading actor Chad Michael Murray (who also played a role Gilmore Girls) also star.

The series, based on novels by Virgin River Author Robyn Carr, will air on The CW in the fall. It is currently in the middle of its 10-episode run on CTV.

Sullivan’s Crossing is an emotionally rich, authentic family drama that will resonate immediately with audiences thanks to an incredible cast and relatable themes like self-reflection, second chances and the power of community,” said Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment for The CW. “Besides an outstanding performance from Morgan Kohan, bringing Chad and Scott back home to The CW is incredibly special.”

Under new ownership Nexstar, The CW is expected to expand to lower-priced, acquired series such as Sullivan’s Crossing for a significant portion of its primetime programming. Just one of the network’s current script series, All Americanswas renewed for 2023-24, less than a month before the network announces its plan for next season.

Sullivan’s Crossing will also help ensure The CW has at least one scripted show ready for the fall should a Writers Guild of America strike disrupt the normal flow of production in the US

Roma Roth (Virgin River) serves as showrunner and executive producer with Christopher E. Perry, Fremantle’s Michela Di Mondo and Hilary Martin and Reel World Management.
