TORONTO, Ontario — After Saturday’s fourth straight win in all competitions against Orlando, CF Montréal will play the first of two games this week against rivals Toronto FC on Tuesday night. The team will travel first to BMO Field for their Canadian Championship Quarterfinals game at 7:00 p.m. (OneSoccer, BPM Sports, TSN 690).

The Montrealers are 5-7-4 against Toronto in the Canadian Championship with 17 goals scored and 20 goals allowed. The Bleu-Blanc-Noir will seek their first win at BMO Field in this tournament as they have yet to have a result since entering MLS (0-7-1).

Among active CF Montréal players, forward Sunusi Ibrahim continues to lead the team with (4) goals scored in this competition. He also remains the only player in club history to score a hat-trick in the Canadian Championship.

While Montreal has had a positive game streak since mid-April, Toronto has struggled in recent games. With just one win in their last seven, notably a 1-0 win over New York City FC on April 29 at BMO Field, TFC will be looking to get one step closer to reclaiming the national title, an honor they deserve have not achieved since the 2020 season.

In the other quarterfinals, Forge FC (CPL) meets Atlético Ottawa (CPL), York United (CPL) meets Vancouver Whitecaps FC (MLS) and Pacific FC (CPL) meets semi-professional club TSS Rovers (League1 BC). ).

The 2023 Canadian Championship winner will win the Voyageurs Cup and qualify for the 2024 Concacaf Champions League. The winner of the Concacaf Champions League also automatically qualifies for the FIFA Club World Cup.
