Canadians dominate the saddle bronco on day 5 of the Calgary Stampede

It was a spectacular Tuesday for three Canadians in one event on the fifth day of the 2024 Calgary Stampede. In the saddle bronc event, Canadians took first, second and third place.

Kolby Wanchuk of Sherwood Park, Alberta, had the highest score for the second day in a row. After scoring 87.5 points on Monday, Wanchuk scored 88 points on Tuesday. Dawson Dahm of Duffield, Alberta, had the second-best score with 87.5 points and Lucas Macza of High River, Alberta, took third place with 86.5 points.

Wanchuk leads the Group B saddle bronc standings with $13,250. Macza is in second place with $6,500. Macza has won as much money as Trenton Burd of Madison, Kansas.

Another Canadian performed admirably on Tuesday. Jared Parsonage of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, rode Wrangler Tough, scoring 84 points to be the best of the day, tied with Josh Frost of Randlett, Utah. Parsonage is third in the Group B overall standings with $8333.33, behind Trey Kimzey of Strong City, Oklahoma ($12,375) and Jace Trosclair of Chauvin, Louisiana ($10,875).

Meanwhile, Wade Salmond of Weekes, Saskatchewan, posted the fastest time of 1:10.81 in the Rangeland Derby. The overall leader on Tuesday was Chad Fike of Cremona, Alberta, with a time of 5:59.26.
