Mazatlán, Sin.- Once flights from Canada are reactivated, the tourists in Mazatlan and a large influx in this winter season.
The advisor of the Association of Hotel and Tourism Companies of Mazatlán, José Gámez Valle, said that the expectations of the tourism sector of Mazatlan are good for the fall-winter season, since the Reservations in beach hotels, they record levels of 45%.
“The weekly flights of two airlines arrive with a good occupancy rate, we have to remember that Canada was closed not only to Mexico, but to the world and they have just been reactivated”, noted.
He recalled that Mazatlán for many years was king in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and that they were feeding off Saskatoon and Saskatchewan, where they now have direct flights.
He commented that he expects an influx of foreign tourism similar to that of the 2019 season, since booking levels are at similar levels.
“A lot of efforts have been made, former governor Quirino Ordaz has conducted negotiations with operators from Canada and the United States, it is expected that in this new government there will be continuity”, he expressed.
He also added that, as part of tourism promotion strategies aimed at making Mazatlán known internationally, a group of journalists from the United States visited the municipality.
He explained that the purpose of the activity is for Americans to know about the port’s major tourist attractions and feature them in their media.
