Canadian Tire will be hosting some free indoor community skates over the next two winters
You may have noticed Canadian Tire branding at the Ed Sackfield Arena and Fitness Center and Tom Graham Arena.
Richmond Hill’s two local Canadian Tire stores have partnered with the city as part of their continued commitment to community recreation, according to a city news release.
The shops at 250 Silver Linden Dr. and 11720 Yonge St. are also presenting partners with the city Adventure seriesa recreational program that teaches children ages six to 13 outdoor skills such as orienteering, climbing, hiking, making fires and building shelters.
The multi-year sponsorship is an investment in promoting leisure and culture where the two shop owners live with their families and run their businesses.
Additionally, Canadian Tire will be hosting some free indoor community skates over the next two winters. For more information, see the public skate map available online at RichmondHill.ca/Skating for times and places.
“Canadian Tire has always been an active member of our community. We appreciate and appreciate both their support and commitment to ensuring that everyone in our city has the opportunity to participate in skating and other activities. Partnerships like this are great for helping build an active, inclusive and healthy community,” said Mayor David West.
“It is a true privilege to serve such a vibrant multicultural community. We are very pleased about the partnership with the city – it fits perfectly with our corporate vision of promoting and supporting local sport. It’s a rare opportunity for people in our community to get on the ice with little to no effort, whether you’re a seasoned rink veteran or someone learning to skate. We’re happy to be able to help, especially by supporting free public skates. We look forward to seeing the community on the ice,” said Canadian Tire Silver Linden Drive Dealer Joe Mohr.
