Canadian streamer has been live for 6 days saying “Mario”

by Tess Hutchinson

There are a lot of crazy things on Twitch. One of the most recent is streamer Nicro, who has been repeating the word “Mario” for nearly a week, dressed as the famous Nintendo video game plumber. In six days, he said the character’s name 395,023 times. And need to say more.

This is because Nicro decided to repeat “Mario” several times for each bit, subscription or donation. no chain. The subscription brings in 250 “Marios”. For every dollar there are 100 more “Marios” and one bit represents one “Mario”. That is, even with almost 400,000 repeats, it still has to repeat 601,108 times (so far).

The fun even started on December 1, last Wednesday, when the Canadian streamer returned to the platform after a nine-month hiatus from personal matters. Now it’s over 130 hours live. Obviously, Nicro takes breaks for sleep and for other needs.

Sometimes the streamer adds other words, referring either to the music being played or even to actor Chris Pratt, who will do the voice of the plumber in the upcoming animated film. Nicro also says “c’est moi” (“c’est moi”), refers to youtuber Logan Paul, to Wario, Mario’s rival, and swears.

On its Twitch channel, Nicro has 71,500 subscribers. Even without it, while the streamer is sleeping, the chat remains active, with around 400 people ready to add more “Mario” to the Canadiens’ tally.

Created in the 1980s by Shigeru Miyamoto, the character first appeared in the game “Donkey Kong” in 1981. But Mario’s first title was only released in 1983. Since then, The Plumber has appeared in over 200 games. The last game released this year 2021 is “Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury”.
